I have received tons of concerns and questions about pain and retightening. The maintenance of Sisterlocks should not be PAINFUL!!! If anything, it should be a slight discomfort, much like when you getting your hair braided.
Now I use to have my hair braided all the time, and I remembered one instance where a stylist had what I call "rough" hands, and braided my hair so tight which resulted in me having headaches for days (also lost most of my side hairs). I never went back to her again, and I suggest if you already told your consultant about your retighten being painful, and nothing has been done to ease the pain, then you need find another Consultant. Below are tips on how to make your retighten experience as pain free as possible.
Tip for tender heads
- Retighten hair on WET hair.
- Have a spray bottle of water on hand to maintain your wet hair throughout the retighten process.
- Ask your Consultant not to do the last rotation. Your scalp won't be as tender or painful to touch.
- Get the Sisterlocks Moisture Treatment and have your Consultant apply it to your root while she is retightening your hair, that should help with the pain/discomfort and alleviate the soreness.
Final note: If you still having pain after all the above tips, find another Consultant, because Sisterlocks retighten should NOT be painful!!! Another solution is to learn how to retighten your own hair, then you don't have to deal with "rough" hands again.

I'm glad to say that that the residue and film left by the got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Flatten was successful removed by my clarifier shampoo. To read more about what I'm referring to click here. I'm extremely relieved that it wasn't an issue to remove the residue from my locks. I guess the ingredient in that product can be easily washed away. I don't know if I can still recommend this product to lock wearer. Below are the comparisons of the issues I had.

My sisterlocks are nice and clean which makes me a happy camper. Right now they are in much need of some moisturizer, because they are a little harsh to touch, but I will fix that with my moisturize spray in the morning. I could not go to bed with my sisterlocks looking like that UGH. I usually wait and review my blog post for days for correction etc. but I just had to share this, so excuse me as I no doubt have errors on this post.
Last week I flat ironed my sisterlocks, and I had used a heat protecting spray on my locks. Usually got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protect doesn't leave much of residue when washed out, but something happen differently this time. Today I went swimming with my daughter and when I came out, I had residue and a thick film (barely seen) on my sisterlocks.
I'm not really concern about this residue, because if I have to, I will do my BSW & ACV rinse to get this residue out. I'm more concern if this doesn’t wash out after my usual clarify wash. As I'm looking at the pictures right now, I can't honestly recommend got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protect as a heat protector for locks.
If this residue DOES wash out, I may have stumble upon something interesting about this protector. So far my sisterlocks are soft right now, and not as rough as it usually is after a swim in chlorinated water, I may have found an accidental protector for my hair while I swim? I will give you an update about this issue on a future post.

As I look at these pictures, I'm not willing to give got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protect a good review due to this residue alone. I will go back to my review after I thoroughly evaluate my hair after my clarifying wash.
I haven't flat ironed my sisterlocks for a while now, and decided to do it today. I got a glimpse of how my sisterlocks will look shoulder length and I'm looking forward to achieving that length soon.
