Review: Gold 'N Hot by Belson Ionic Soft Jumbo Bonnet Dryer

8:26 AM

I have been looking for a hair bonnet dryer for a LONG time. All of my braid outs and curls have been done via air dry only. It hasn't been that much of a big deal for me this far, but I think now I can at least do a lot more spur of a moment curls, instead having them plan ahead of time due to time restraint.

The reason why it took so long to decide was solely based on my indecision between hard bonnets dryer vs. a soft bonnet dryer. I decided to go with the soft compact bonnet dryer base on a reviewed by a youtuber. Below is my review.

Gold 'N Hot by Belson Ionic Soft Jumbo Bonnet Dryer Claims
Incorporates new ionic technology into hair drying, while accommodating larger roller sets.

Like
- Comfortable & Easy To Use
- Very Compact & Easy To Store
- Dries My Braids Out & Curler Set in 30min to 1hr.
- Love the Adjustable String for the Bonnet

Dislike
- Loud
- Hose Get HOT!
- The Case Must Remain Open

Final Conclusion: I'm glad I decided to wait before making a purchase on bonnet dryer, because this turn out to be a real gem. I really love this bonnet dryer and how easy I can carry it around my place and use it where ever I want. No product is perfect, and I did have one issue with the hot hose (use a towel around my neck) and the fact that it is loud, but I still highly recommend this product, and I hope it lasts a long time. I purchase this online for $35.96 plus free shipping, but you can buy this at Sally's for $54.00.

  1. Those soft bonnet dryers are so convenient! I used to have one but gave it to a guy friend who wanted to use it to dry his long dreads (this is before I started my locs). I have a Pibbs stand dryer but I need to buy another soft bonnet for travelling.

Quick note: If you ever nap under the dry, just because that the plastic hose doesn't lay directly on your skin. It may not "feel" hot enough to burn but it can cause a burn blister if contact is too long. My sister had a quarter size burn on her after falling asleep with it on.

  2. Yikes...Thanks for the quick note! The hose got really hot and I can see myself getting burned if I happen to fall asleep. I think I'm now officially hook on dryers....I always had to wait till Sunday morning to wash my hair because I hate falling asleep with wet locks and now that is not an issue any more ^_^.

  4. Very interesting post. I got a hard plastic hooded dryer before I got my locs. The one thing I don't like about it is that it is not portable. I have to sit under a certain chair, not a comfy couch. But it works well for my roller sets.

I have even let my 4-year-old daughter sit under it on warm for 5 minutes to dry her curls. She really thinks she's something!

  5. @The woman I hope this made the your decision easier. @Terez how cute. My daughter also wanted to try it. I just put her on the cool settling. The bonnet was way too big for her head though.

  8. Love your blog! But may I ask where did you buy the bonnet? I just purchased mine on Amazon with free shipping for $48 and I couldn't find a price less expensive than that :(

  9. I went back to the seller I purchase it from and that price increase again (so you can try leaving it on your cart to see if the price will go down again). FYI, I did get the same price of $48 dollars from the seller I purchase it from. If you can't wait, you still be paying less than $54. It's really up to you. Thanks for the compliment about my blog.

  10. LOVE my Gold n Hot Soft Bonnet Dyer! Compact, easy to use and affordable! Purchased mine @ Sally's joined their club paid less than $40 for it. I do agree the hose gets HOT, HOT & Mo' HOT but I don't know how the manufacturer would avoid that. Would highly recommend and will keep mine for a long time...

  11. Is there a cost to be in the Sally’s Club? I still love my dryer and still recommend it. Thanks for your comment. I’m sure this will make the decision easier for others as well.
