Extra Length with My Sedu Flat Iron

3:46 PM

I haven't flat ironed my sisterlocks for a while now, and decided to do it today. I got a glimpse of how my sisterlocks will look shoulder length and I'm looking forward to achieving that length soon.

  1. Why would you flatiron your locks? Isn't the whole point of having locks to ban all those dangerous and damaging practices for our natural hair?

    Just sayin.

  2. I have no idea why other people choose to put lock on, but I chose Sisterlocks for the ability to do stuff like this. I'm not saying flat ironing is not harmful but I do everything to make sure it is not damaging to my Sisterlocks. Just like I’m sure people make sure they protect their locks after & before coloring etc. If other people put lock to stay natural, good for them and I wish them the best. If they are like me, who like natural and want options as well, they now know they have it with Sisterlocks. No one can be more anal about my Sisterlocks then me. Thanks for your feedback. Love it!

  3. Kreyola, your sisterlocks look so fresh, bouncy and beautiful. I just love the info on your blog Girly! Especially the post about washing with warm water and then rinsing it out with cool water. The neat steps that we may have heard of but either forgot about it, or did not pay attention to the benefits. Thanks again for the post I might give it a try. Keep the info coming!

  4. Thanks...Lady Butterfly...I still do the cool water rinse and I find my color is just more vibrant that way. As for the bounciness that is the flat Iron result. It makes your locks lighter which make it even more bouncy. Thanks for your complement. I will continue to keep the info coming :).

  11. Kreyola girl - I am late to the party but I still wanted to comment. These pictures - your hair - breathtaking.
I remember there was an issue years ago where people were asking why you would want to have so many tiny locs on your head... my word - here is the answer!
