Review: My Everyday M•A•C Eye Liner, Eye Shadow, Foundation & Concealer

1:40 PM

The best thing I ever did was to get my makeup done professionally by a M.A.C. makeup artist. She picked out the right color for my foundation, and also explained each item that she recommend for me to get, and how to apply it. I still have ways to go as far as makeup application is concern, but now I feel that I’m at a place where I can safely say I can now apply my own makeup, and look decent at it. I still have a couple of other makeup to review, but below is the makeup I can't really live without. My face just instantly transform with just the below basic. Please note, if you have really oily skin, please visit this post.

M•A•C Pro Longwear Eye Liner (Definitely Black)

Claims
Pro Longwear's long-lasting eye liner delivers creamy, dense colour that glides on smoothly. 12-hour water resistant formula stays put and smudge-free.

I really like this eye liner and how long it last. The only way to remove this liner is to wash it out with either soap or a makeup remover. Plain water will NOT remove it completely. Prior to getting this, I have read reviews on the staying power of this liner, and how a lot of ladies complain it barely last 8 hours. I'm in total shock with those comments!? I work 8 hours, commute for additional 1 1/2 hour, as well as go to the GYM, and that eye liner still show up strong by the end of the day. I just don't get those reviews about this liner not lasting as long as others? Maybe I'm new to the game, but for the regular folk that are not makeup guru, this product is good enough lol.

I only had one issue with this eye liner, and it was a "duh" moment (*face palm*). I could not figure out how to get more out of this liner lol. Out of frustration, I decided to Google it and found out you had to sharpen it in order to get more of the liner. This may sound simple, but it was not as apparent as it sound. The way M.A.C. had this liner packaged; it was not obvious that you could sharpen it. I would have much preferred them to have a version where more of the liner peeks out as you twist & turn the bottom (like my old eye liner).

Pro Longwear Paint Pot (Quite Natural)

Claims
A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M•A•C shadows and liners.

Dislike

I prefer matted eyeshadows vs. the shiny version, and I never thought I would ever find an eyeshadow that was not only matted, but last as long as the shimmery counterparts. I just don't even know if this is even considered an eyeshadow??? I tried so many "so-called" matted eye shadows, and many of them I found still had some kind of shine to them or they didn't last as long or stay as vibrant as the shimmery versions. This is not the case with this bad boy here. Quite Natural goes on smooth and dries off to give a very matted look and has finish that stays on for a long period of time.

This paint pot also works perfectly as an everyday look or even as a base for those shiny eyeshadows. This paint pot has me wanting to try the others in the same line, but I'm just not happy with the cost, which is what preventing me from getting the rest on this line. Even though this product is expensive, I still have to reluctantly admit that it is worth it. This will always be in my makeup bag.

I tried not using this concealer one day, and notice the different immediately! So for the newbies that are now trying to learn how to apply makeup, listen up. If you have dark spots or even black circle underneath your eye, this product covers it. Not only does this product cover my dark circles, it also brightens the area, and makes my eyes appear bigger. This concealer turned out to be the missing link in my makeup bag :).  So in conclusion, I will never apply makeup without first applying my concealer. Also I don't know if you guys ever notice on certain pictures where ladies would have concealers, and they are so apparent when their pictures are taken. This concealer does not show, and blends really well under direct flash.

Yeah ~ Picture Examples ^_^
Below are various pictures I have taken of my makeup during different lighting conditions. I always knew I was going to release this review, and I made sure I took this pictures with my phone each time I wore the above products, because those picture really shows where the above products shine. Conclusion: I have tried cheap store brands products, and what I now called "premium products", and I do notice the difference. I don't think I can ever go back to the cheap stuff again, but I would love to try other products that are comparable to the M.A.C., but cheaper. Anyhow...I think the M.A.C. line is great and I now understand what all the harp about. So if you have money to spare, splurge a little and get some M.A.C. products.

  1. Great collection of items! I really like the paint pot! I may have to go pick that up. Before I started using Matchmaster foundation I lived in the Studio Fix Powder still wear it on occasion. The eyeliner really does last a long time I've had the same one for like 3 years lol.

    1. I have been eyeing the MAC liquid version of a foundation myself, so when I get a chance (and cash) I will look into Matchmaster. The paint pots I want to get are Constructivist, Groundwork, Indianwood, and Rebenesque. MAC got me going crazy lol.

  2. Thanks for posting this!
Since losing my eyelashes I have to wear eyeliner everyday (to help create the illusion of eyelashes) and I'm always frustrated that I have to top up several times a day!
I'm going to invest in this one based on your review. Thanks!

  3. This post is really helpful for me, since I started apply makeup a couple of months again when I first started to post my outfits. I was amazed that how much a proper makeup can transform and uplift a look.
