I decided to do Athens on the last leg of my Greek Island Hopping trip and I'm glad I made that decision. I have to say that the city of Athens really surprised me when I first arrived that evening. I NEVER expect it to look so much like New York, with just a whole lot more graffiti & decaying structures thrown in. Most blog and travel site mainly focus on the Acropolis (Parthenon) and Ancient Agora end, and I think that is sad. On my final post on Greece, I decided to share my complete thoughts on the city as a whole.

This Acropolis is a must see during the day and at night. It is located on the top of the mountains overlooking the city of Athens and it is truly a site to behold. As you stand looking up at the Acropolis, you can only imagine what it must have look like back then.

The Acropolis contains the Parthenon, which is equally as impressive in person. Once you reach the ancient citadel, you get a wonderful view of the Ancient Agora of Athens and the Theatre of Dionysus Eleuthereus. At night, all of the ancient ruins get lit up casting the city of Athens with such an amazing warmth and glow that you can't help but admire this great city.

Folegandros was where I slept the most, and since there wasn't much to do on that island, I also got some much needed recoup time that I desperately needed.

Church of Panagia (Virgin Mary)
Greece is a very spiritual country! All the islands I have visited, church and religion played a huge part. As you travel throughout Greece, you will see church scattered around, even on islands that don't have any inhabitants.

One of the main attractions of Folegandros is the church of Panagia, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and is located on the very top of mountain and is an ever towering present to the city of Chora. Once you have entered the city square, it will just take you a couple minute to reach the path that is made of stone, which has a really cool zig-zag pattern. It takes about 15 minutes of climbing (even though it looks imitated at first) to reach the top and you are then greeted by the most gorgeous view at the church square. From the top of this hill, you really can see the entire island.  The church is open to the public for touring between 18 to 21 military times, so don't try to attempt to go earlier than that.




The Beach & Snorking
The beaches were truly amazing here. Not only was the water crystal clear, but also had a range of colors from turquois to aqua, and the sand was an even bigger bonus because they were nice and soft.

I did not mention much of the temperatures of the ocean waters in my previous posts, but the ocean water temperature in Greece are SUPER cold. Once you got in the water, your body does adjust, but unfortunately for my friend, the water was just too cold to enjoy.

I want to note that I really want to do snorkeling in the near future, and I found that Folegandros would have been a great spot for a little snorkeling action. I don't want to do snorkeling alone, and my friend doesn't know how to swim, so I decided not to do it there. I just happen to notice while standing on one of their priers that the water was so clear and pretty, that you couldn't help but notice huge family of fishes in arrange of colors. That tells me alone that this island would have been great for snorkeling.





Chora Town
This town is very quiet and laid back. You will be done exploring this town in about 35 minutes. I also believe the main tourist are families and the older crowd because of it quaintness. They also happen to really like cats, so if you a cat lover, you will really love this island. Just keep in mind that they seem to operate between early mornings and late in the evenings.











I stayed in Folegandros for 2 days, and that was more than enough time to stay in that island. If you ever decided to do a  Greece Island Hopping tour, and you enjoy peace, relaxation, and snorkeling, then I can recommend Folegandros. If you want a little more excitement and night light, then Folegandros is NOT your island.

Naxos turns out to be my favorite island out of all of the Cyclades Islands I visited. The vibe there was great and because of the warmth of its people, I will never forgot Naxos. I do have to note that we did get stalked by an older gentlemen in a red pickup truck because of our amazing look (-_^), but that didn't deter me from liking this island and placing it as my top island of my Greek Island Hopping Tour.

Naxos City
The people that makes up Naxos is what I believe make Naxos one of the popular island on the Cyclades. I spent most of my time chatting with the locals, and just having a grand old time. I also had the best food here as well. I took a lot of picture of what I ate over there, and I really want to share my experience about the food in Greece, so if you guys are not bored by my travel post, I'm really would like to share my experience with the food I had in Greece. Santorini was the third island I visited, right after Naxos. If you guys ever plan on visiting Greece, I highly recommend splitting the island hopping between destination that are not to touristy such as Mykonos, Santorini, or Athens. I have already shared my experience with Mykonos here.

My experience at Santorini wasn't as pleasant as Mykonos or Naxos, and that was largely due to the fact that the people there seem to be tired of the tourist. I was a little irritated by the fourth day of dealing with rude ass people. You guys would be very proud of me, because I REALLY held my tongue for the most part (I only snap back once :D). There is only so much yelling and pointing I can take...ugh. Other than the rudeness and the high level of tourist, Santorini was indeed a wonderful place to visit.

The amazing thing about all the towns and villages in Santorini are that they are built on the VERY top of the mountains. Since these villages and town are on the very top of the mountains, the sun tend to be very harsh during the day, and at night tend to be cold due to the winds.

My Greece trip will be released in a series of posts that will combined my love of traveling and my new adventure into fashion. Greece is one of my "many" dream destinations, and planning this took a while and a lot of guts. I was fortunate to have one of my friends join me on this trip, because I was planning on doing this trip solo.

My first stop on my Greece Island Hopping Adventure was Mykonos. I decided to go to Mykonos first and that turned out to be the best decision! By the time I arrived at Athens, I was burn out. So if you are curious about my experience in Athens please come back, because I have a lot of stuff to share about that place that is not commonly shared on the travel blogs etc. In the end, my experience in Mykonos turn out to be really good, and I came to later appreciated it even more because of its people, and how helpful they were compared to Santorini and Athens.
