Below are loc jewelries I have made for myself. I'm not perfect yet, and I do need some more practice before I open my own store (details to be announce later) but below are the ones that I thought look decent enough to share and wear. If you want to learn how to make a simple loc jewelry, click here. If you are interested in making loc ties, click here. If you are curious about my hair and how I got it like that, click here.
If you enjoy making stuff, then this is something that you can make for your locks that is quick and easy. The cost up front may be a lot for some or very little for others. Even though this post is focusing on loc jewelry for sisterlocks, this tutorial can be used for any size locks. You just have to pay attention the sizing of every material you used.

Material Needed
Crochet Needle(s)
Needle Nose Pliers ( Wire Cutters)
Copper Wire 20-22 Gauge

I saw The Natural Me handband on a fellow sisterlocker and I instantly fell in love. I love laying my sisterlocks on one side, and this handband made it so easy, yet at the same time, it made me look cute and chic. I had a really hard time choosing a color, since the cost wasn't cheap, at a total of $16.98 (for the different color version). So I choose the ones that had the most vibrant colors and wring it. Below are the pictures of how I rock this headband the first time (went to the GYM).
It held up pretty nicely at the GYM but toward the end though, I had to tuck the sisterlocks from the left side in, since they were getting in my way. My sisterlocks are honestly too long for me to wear it this way (super straight), so when I wear this next time, I will do it with my spiral curls. I will never understand how people can get all made up at the GYM -_-. I release a quick review on this headband here, so check it out.

Dislike
- Expensive*
- Very Tight (Hopefully it will loosen with wear)
I note it as expensive (just for the people that are price conscious) but the quality of this product is nice, so if it last long, then it would be worth the price. This product also looks like it was handmade, so the fact that it looks slightly different from the picture was apparent. I couldn't put that finding in the "dislike" section, since they did make it clear that the colors will vary from the cart picture. Now that I'm working out, it starting to get a little bit frustrating not being able to hold on to braid out that I do after a wash. Usually I do my braid out on a Saturday, and by Sunday, I take them down, and go GYM early that morning. By the time I get to work on Monday, the braid out is very loose or non exists because of how much I sweat.
So this time around, instead of doing individual braids, I decided to do twists, and proceeded to create a bun for the back. My sisterlocks are now long enough, where I can do this without any issue. Below is the result. It not that that neat, since I had a class to go to, but I think it will look great if I take my time and do it.

I believe this style can be done for an outing too. I did this in 10 min, but if I do decided to wear this out to an event etc., I will take my time to make this look neater. Note: I added the flower after I came back from the GYM, since I like it so much, I just continued to wear it.

UPDATE - USE ONLY SOFT PASTEL AND DON'T USE ANY OTHER CHALK. I left this as a reference on how it will look with regular sidewalk chalk. The method on how to apply this is still the same. So check out the "how to" for this.
This style was done to celebrate the 4th of July. I'm now releasing it because it came with a round of posts attached to it. I wanted to see if the highlight would wash out, how long it will last, and if I needed to add some additional notes on how to do this. Enjoy and I hope you guys had an amazing 4th of July weekend.
I did a complete shot, so you can actually see the chalk on my hair, is not as "chalky" far away. I took a lot of these pictures under direct flash light. Under normal lighting conditions, it doesn't look so bad. But you still using chalk to apply the highlight, and it look like chalk on your hair. I think this look less chalky with thicker locks, straighter or loose hair. Check out the how to, result, and review of chalk on Sisterlocks.

My hair has grown a lot since doing this original style. I wanted to recreate the look, but as you know (if you been following me) the front were too short...ugh. So I made it work by doing the below style instead, as a work around. Still look pretty good, and my longer locks made this style look so delicious lol.
The key to making this style so successful is using a hair accessory
. Last time I used a flower
at the edge, this time around I used one of my homemade hair ties.
I was tempted not to share this, since it was not a big deal as a style, but I'm sure someone will benefit from this post.
I remember a time when my locks were so short, that I couldn't even do a single pointy tail (*chuckling*) and I had to make do by parting my locks in the middle and then tying them down. I also had to wrap my locks with a bandana
to reduce slippages and unraveling locks due to sweats.
Now those days are long gone and so last season (I know I'm too much ^_-). I eventually graduated to a single pointy tails. Now as my hair continued to grow longer, I have now upgraded to buying the Mega Flexi-8 and pinning all of my locks up, this helps with keeping my locks off my back/neck. So below is how I mostly wear my hair now. Also keep a look out for an upcoming post about my weight lost journey once again, it's a killer this time around lol.

I have a total of 2 Mega, 2 Large, and 2 Medium Flexi-8 clips. The Mega and the Large Flexi-8 are what I recommend getting if you want a clip to handle all of your locks.

Took my YouTube videos down for personal reason (let just say I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after receiving a certain message). Anyway, to make a long story short, I did have a video that showed how to insert loc jewelries on sisterlocks.
Since I have been getting a lot of email asking about that video, I decided to do a "How To" post here instead. I will not be releasing a video of it, but if you must see a video, I'm sure there must be someone on YouTube describing the process.
If you curious as to where to buy the loc jewelry (made especially for sisterlocks), you can check out my post about Kawaii adornments here. If you looking for locks jewelries that are made for thicker locks, than checkout Etsy.com.
Step 1 - Select the jewelry you want to put on. If you have thicker dread, you can even use Shell Beads
Step 2 - If you purchased your jewelry from Kawaii adornments, you should have received something like this below, if not, than use a regular hair pin
.
Step 3 - Insert your sisterlocks into the bended area, and clasp your lock tightly.
Step 4 - You will than use the two point end to push through your jewelry of choice. This is a very important step, because this is how you will push the lock & the tool through your jewelry.
Step 5 - Once you have push it through, just unclasp your insert tool, and you are done!
