I always admire the simplicity of the nautical look, since I have to admit, I'm a simple girl. Today I decided to pair my nice stripe blouse with my red skinny jeans. Even though today was gloomy, I finally found the perfect setting for my camera (been practicing). I'm looking forward to better outfit posts in the future.
I remember growing up, and the fashion trend was that colors should always coordinate, meaning they had to "match". I glad that way of thinking are long gone, and many people are not only embracing playing with colors, but patterns as well.
I received this floral dress from my mom, and it has been sitting in my closet for a while now, because I honestly didn't know what to do with it. I'm not really into floral design like that. So today I decided bite the bullet, and pair it with a more combat style jacket to tone it down a bit. I like the end result and this style end up being totally me.
Whenever I wear a beanie to work, I always get a chuckle from my coworker due to the fact that I think it cold. To be honest, I have experience cold weather, and I don't think the low 50’s are cold. I just enjoy taking advantage of those low temps because I get to wear my fall gear lol. Anyway...who made up these rules on when to wear beanies anyway???? This post is picture heavy, I had a really hard time picking from so many good shots. Blame it on the fact I'm getting much better with the tripod..yay :).

Ladies and gentlemen, if you are the type that holler about Caucasian needed to stay away from African hair style etc., please leave, because ignorant (and yes I believe blacks can be ignorant) of any kind are not accept here. Any hair type can be locks; the question that comes in is how neat you can make the appearance of that person lock. I know a major issue facing straighter hair is the appearance of them. I have seen some great looking locks on straighter type hair, and that alone tells me that they are as committed as you and me in maintaining clean and decent looking locks.
Whenever I wear this top, I get so many compliments on it! Little does anyone knows, I got this from Wal-Mart ^_^. I don't spend much money on name brand clothes; since I'm more of a bargain hunter and would much rather save as much as I can to travel instead. I do tend to spend a little more on pants though, and that is all to do my height. I'm 5'8 and when ever I wear heel, I tend to be between 5'11 - 6'1)
I purchase this sweater years ago, and what I love most about this sweaters is how you can wear it two ways. One way is how it's displayed below, and the other ways is having it hang off the shoulder for a sexier look. Since I have Sisterlocks, I typically wear it hanging from my shoulder, but today I wore my hair up, and added a stripe scarf to lively up the sweater.
Patterns are the latest trend now, and to be perfectly honest, I have really struggle to like that trend. I was never the flowery type (or anything girly of that nature), so trying to like those patterns has been difficult. I'm willing to do lace (which I think is girly), but those are typically not that apparent with the floral design.
For the most part, I wear mostly polka dots, leopard or tiger, and any type of stripes as a pattern. It is still early in the year so maybe my taste will change, but I highly doubt it. Below is a blazer I purchase a while back that I really loved due to the trim that are set in the leopard pattern.

Today outfit is a very simple wear for a very rainy and dreary day. Today will be the last day of our cold front, and I decided to wear this. The sun decided not to peak out again, but I still thought this outfit was cute enough to share. My lovely daughter (who just turn eight on the first of January) are taking my outfit photos, so bear with me as I try to get clearing picture in the future.
I do have a maintenance label on my blog, and I always thought that was enough. Even though I have that label defined, I still get ask what I do to maintain my mature Sisterlocks. I never released an official post about it in the past, and I'm glad I didn't, because what I did in the past, does not apply now. Below is my current routine in maintaining my "mature" Sisterlocks. Even though this post is imitating, it's really not. For the most part, I get my roots retighten every 4-5 weeks, wash them, take vitamins, and moisturize. I went into the dark side with the OCC lipstick/lip stain, and I LOVE IT. Not only do they offer great long lasting color (since I'm always licking these lips of mines) but the color look so good on me. I'm on cloud nine with these find.
If you want long lasting color, then OCC Lip Tar is it. Now that I know what color to look for, I found that I keep going to the lip tar for lip color coverage that last. I enjoy putting both colors on, and below is how they looked on me. This time around, I decided to put a whole face, and not just the lip color which should give you a better idea on how they look. Note: Updated this review on 4/24/2014 after using this extensively.
